Our dedicated team of experienced, highly trained animal lovers is committed to providing exceptional medicine paired with friendly, compassionate service. We’re here not only to care for your pet when they’re unwell, but also to help you keep them happy and healthy throughout their life.
*We currently treat dogs and cats. We are not accepting new avian, ferret, rabbit or pocket pet patients at this time.
Dr. Winnie is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 25 years. He is the medical director and owner of Greenfield Veterinary Hospital. He has two children, Asher and Vast, two step children, Courtney and Cayla, three grandkids, William, Dakota and Jaxson, and enjoys hockey and playing Dungeons and Dragons during his off time. He is lovingly owned by three Sphynxes named Zafiro, Sid and Ace.
Carey earned both her BA and MBA from Chatham University. She began her career working with animals in 2002 at the Animal Rescue League (now HARP) and first joined Greenfield Veterinary Hospital in 2005 as a part-time receptionist. After several years away, she returned in 2015 as the practice manager. At home, Carey shares her life with two long-haired rescue cats, Angel and Maggie, and Harley—a lovable, derpy 105 lb rescue Doberman. She enjoys getting to know the pets who visit our office each day, and in her free time, she volunteers with Doberman Underground and enjoys live comedy.
Born and raised in Malaysia, Dr. Wong attended Oberlin College in Ohio before completing his veterinary medicine degree at Colorado State University. Following that, Dr. Wong completed a small animal rotating internship in San Francisco. He has since practiced General Practice and Emergency Medicine with a particular interest in soft tissue surgery, translational research between humans and animals, and chronic medical illnesses. Dr. Wong and his family (wife, new baby infant, old baby toddler and "old" baby dog) moved here from Baltimore 2 years ago. He’s been practicing at a general veterinary practice locally before deciding to take a job at Greenfield Veterinary Hospital which is about 5 minutes from his home. As a Malaysian Chinese, Dr. Wong is fluent in English and Chinese (slightly rusty), as well as Malay (quite a bit rusty), and can also speak a touch of Spanish when needed. Dr. Wong also loves soccer (go Manchester United) and has previously lived in India for two years! He is unfortunately a fan of the “Black Birds” as he only really started following American Football in B’more.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. McKain moved to North Carolina in 2008, to pursue Bachelors’ Degrees in Animal Science and Poultry Science at North Carolina State University. She graduated in 2012 with honors and as a class valedictorian, and then immediately continued her education at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2016. Throughout her education, she worked as a Veterinary Assistant in a small animal practice outside of Raleigh. Dr. McKain entered the veterinary profession to become an advocate and voice for four-legged family members. Her professional interests include internal medicine, emergency medicine, and preventative health. She is equally devoted to teaching, mentoring, training, and developing new veterinary talent. Dr. McKain is looking forward to continuing to grow our hospital, staff, and client relationships, as well as expanding her network and looking beyond to the next great challenge! Her professional associations include AVMA and NCVMA, and she is certified in the Human Animal Bond through the NAVC Institute. She is also a Fear Free certified veterinarian, as well as currently in pursuit of her Feline Friendly Certification. Dr. McKain shares her home with her four furbabies Sirius Orion (a Pomapoo), Pepper (a senior Chihuahua), Persephone (a shorthaired cat) and Hades (a shorthaired cat). In her off time, she enjoys spending time with colleagues and friends, hiking, knitting, and reading. She's an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoys traveling, both domestically and internationally.
